You can balance (I believe you can do most anything you put your mind to), but just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
Perhaps balance was required years ago, but with the tools and technology we have now, you have a better option: to step off the balance beam and play.
The need for support does not indicate weakness. There are people, tools, and habits you can invite into your life to support the pieces you want to keep, but they likely won't show up without a cordial invitation. I'll help you extend those invitations with kindness, and from a place of strength.
No matter how much you practice, you will never play someone else's composition as well as they do. So trying to match your choices and your life to someone else's ideals is a one-way express ticket to feeling like a failure. Let's write a composition that you can play with your whole heart.
Trying to balance requires an incredible amount of focus, energy, and awareness of surrounding circumstances. If something new comes at you, your balance is easily thrown off, and you may even have to pick yourself up and start all over again.
It's also really difficult to be productive, because there's a constant fear of falling down or "messing up". #beenthere
In a musical composition, you can add new instruments, rhythms, dynamics, -- and even change keys or tempo completely. As long as there is purpose behind the notes, the piece gets even more interesting with every addition and change.
Yes, there are moments of dissonance. But with the composition's purpose in mind, even parts that seem to clash can (in context) create a beautiful tension that makes you appreciate the resolution even more.
